New Mills battle their way to a deserved draw.
On Tuesday night the Millers travelled to Gorton to take on Abbey Hey in league action.
It was a close game throughout but the Millers had plenty of chances in the first half and couldn’t capitalise and the hosts also hit the post twice. Haydn Foulds had a free kick late into the first half and the effort narrowly went over the bar.
Just after half-time Abbey Hey opened the scoring but the Millers took control of the game and it seemed a matter of time before they equalised and on 67 minutes Dylan Stringer-Moth headed at the back post for draw level.
Not long after the Millers had a penalty but Haydn Foulds effort was saved and it ended 1-1 in Gorton. It was another deserved point for the Millers. Sam Marshall was MOTM after a solid performance on the wing and was a great threat.
